Container Homes are earthquake, tornado, fire and even hurricane resistant. Again, the keyword here is RESISTANT. There is no such thing as “fireproof”, “Earthquake proof”, “hurricane proof”, or “tornado proof”. Anyone who tells you otherwise is a liar, plain and simple.
Container Homes are built out of Corten Steel. The Corten Steel used to construct Container Homesis non-corrosive.
Container Homes are easily securable. You can’t just kick thru a Corten Steel wall, you have to CUT it. This means that it’s harder to gain entry, without permission.
Container Homes is “green”. It takes much less energy to repurpose an ISBU container and convert it into a home than it does to recycle that same Container Homes to return it into raw steel.
Container Homes saves trees. We need trees. They make oxygen. And apples… ![]()
Container Homes are like cars in that they’re made using a technique called “unibody construction.” This makes them strong and durable.
Container Homes are designed to be stacked. That means they’re perfect for building multi-story projects. Everything that you need is already there!
Container Homes projects aren’t built, per se, they are ASSEMBLED. That means they go up fast!
Container Homes meet or exceed US Building Code in every category.
Container Homes are easily adapted to an assembly line pre-fab construction process.
Container Homes are versatile. Because of their very nature, they are easily deployed in custom home configurations
Container Homes are easily “disguised’. Container Homes readily accept stucco, sidings, brick veneer, stone, vinyl siding, or anything else you can imagine.
Container Homes: Benefits Of Owning A Container Home
Container Homes: Some thoughts on container homes.
Container Homes: Some thoughts on container homes.
I know it sounds weird or even uncertain but it may actually be an experience living inside one of those shipping container homes!
Can you imagine owning one of the new mod container homes?
Getting your mail there and actually living in a container homes residence?
WOW!
I am new to container homes ideology myself, but my partner has been into this new concept of container homes for several years and designed on in the Marin County area of California.
Believe it or not, there are many people living inside of container homes these financially troubled days.
As one author put it there is nothing strange or weird about living in one of those container homes any more.
Container homes really are now being used like never before. Within these container homes you will see incorporated new structured frames, bizarre and beautiful engineering. But let me now forget the out of this world interior design being incorporated into container homes now.
Hey, there are even areas within major cities throughout the world which are made up out of used corrugated shipping container homes and office buildings and more.
And to think we just leave these potential container homes materials just sitting there doing nothing. How many times have you driven by coastal areas near or inside cities and seen hundreds or even thousands of these shipping containers in huge yards or complexes?
I am told there are enough to wrap around the world 3 times! Imagine the amount of shipping container homes that could be built just sitting there going to waste!
I say lets to utilize these steel units by converting them into livable container homes, offices and other units of interest. And these container homes can be built at super affordable rate?
Think about it and weigh a container home vs the prices of traditional mortgages and houses that are increasing all the time. Here in the states housing taxes are sky-rocketing through the roof. Folks are taking more and more 2nd loans out just to keep their homes!
In my area foreclosure signs are rampant! Again another reason for a container home. But let me continue:
Friends our economies all over the world are collapsing making it even harder to get loans and even harder to pay them back. I mean even if you are even thinking about purchasing a home or condo, it now takes some cash just to see if you can get the project approved.
To be blunt I think it’s a bit loco or crazy to even discuss the prices of modern-day construction for a simple house. Why not choose to go the other way? Some of these container homes both inside and outside are amazing looking. Especially the container homes where they are stacked two to three high or wide or both!
Why don’t you watch one of my videos and take a virtual tour inside a shipping container home. You will find these container homes can be an experience.
Sometimes you cannot even tell the difference between a “real house” or container homes. And, this is due to the simple designing and engineering from the artistic and crafty people who’s ingenuity is pioneering at the forefront of the container homes issue.
If you are thinking about creating a container home for yourself or hiring someone to help you with this project then your in the right place.
I have linked a container homes source of information on this site if you click on the photo above it will take you to a excellent source of complete information on container homes, that will help you cut through the red tape and get your container homes project up and running real quick.

Why Container Homes?
Container homes? What is all this hoopala over metal container homes and why use container homes? Well that is what I am going to delve into today and I think when you finish reading what I’ve found out about container homes you too will be sold.
Well let me start by saying that I’ve found out that these container homes are made of super heavy duty steel a combination of 12 gauge and 14 gauge steel. Using these shipping crates in the construction of container homes will produce a home that is made for extreme adverse conditions.
Container Homes Don’t Rust!
I have also learned that this steel does not rust. It does oxidize but this beginning stage actually stops the rust or corrosion from going below the surface levels. They are made of Corten steel which makes a container home completely air and water tight.
Here is more proof of just how tough these potential container homes can be. Look at video # 2. CLICK HERE
The floor structure supports over 25 tons. In my research I found that they can be stacked as high as 9 on top and this actually makes container homes even stronger.
Container Homes Saves You Money!
But what about cost savings with a container home? Well with a normal home two thirds of the money is spent on site work and construction bills. Using a container home allows you to cut material and labor down to as much as 50%. Cha-ching! Think about how the savings can help increase your equity.
Also since you can put them on top of grade beams as some people have done, a container home will lower the whole site preparation bills. I myself would prefer my container home to be squarely rooted into the ground but may have enjoyed their container home raised off the ground and have saved a ton of money doing it.
By using grade beams with a container home, it will allow you to avoid the costly hassle of moving tons of earth to create that perfectly leveled
out spot for your normal site home.
Container Homes Offer More Creativity In Home Design
Here is more good news on the side of a container home. There is this whole new trend towards minimalist interiors. That fits well with a container home. In fact it fits perfectly. You end up with no stucco or exterior paint which are just cheap materials anyways. Also the savings with a container home on a per square foot basis are phenomenal I’ve learned.
In my case I am looking at a vacation home slash retirement container home project. With this type of simple construction I will also get the benefits of owning a container home that include:
Container Homes are made of super steel giving them extreme strength!
Container Homes being made of metal makes them fire proof!
Container Homes can withstand winds up to 175 mph for over 12 hours!
Container Homes, thereby become extremely Tornado and Hurricane resistant!
Container Homes offer easy and fast construction!
Container Homes are pest and termite resistant!
Container Homes more than passes building codes in America!
Container Homes won’t give you a huge bill for extra floors!
Container Homes overall lower cost and I can get creative in my own home design!
So going with a container home and adapting a minimalist approach I can have a new vacation home for almost pennies on the dollar!
Let me show you some more designs:
